Description
  • Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous chronic disorder of nutrient metabolism characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose and associated with numerous acute and chronic complications. The micronutrients get exploited and exhausted with the much complex pan-dysmetabolic status of diabetes, compromising the nutritional status of the cell.
  • Diabetics also experience abnormally high levels of oxidative free-radicals, generating accelerated and Advanced Glycated End products (AGE), thus increasing the risk of cell damage and diabetic vascular complications. This again is due to the lack of sufficient micronutrients required for building up the exploited antioxidants, reinforcing the enzymes and catalysts and boosting the lost defence of an immune compromised status of a diabetic individual. Oxidative stress also plays an important role in the development of diabetic neuropathy.
Indications
  • To meet the nutritional demands of diabetic patients.
  • As an adjuvant in the management of the macrovascular and microvascular complications of diabetes.
